Aron: U.S. Air Force Military Working Dog
Military Working Dog Aron was honored with a memorial service May 15, 2014, at the Prairie Rose Chapel on Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D. The canine from the 319th Security Force Squadron was humanely euthanized on May 7, 2014, after it was discovered he was dying of cancer. Aron, a Belgian Malinois, served as a patrol narcotics detector dog. He entered service at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, on June 30, 2009, and arrived at Grand Forks AFB, in November 2009. Grand Forks AFB Airmen named best firefighter in state

Angus Adolpho, assistant chief of standards and evaluations from the Grand Forks Air Force Base Fire Department, was selected by the American Legion as the recipient of the 2013 North Dakota American Legion Firefighter of the Year Award.
