DeCA sets store operating schedule for holidays Published Dec. 24, 2008 By 081224 FORT LEE, Va. -- Military commissaries will operate under a holiday schedule beginning Dec.22, the director of the Defense Commissary Agency announced. Commissaries will close Dec. 26, and stores which normally close on Mondays will be open Dec. 22, said Philip E. Sakowitz Jr., DeCA director and chief executive officer. Exceptions to the Dec. 26 closings will be based on requests from installation commanders for commissary operations on that day to support mission-essential requirements. Also, DeCA stores will be closed Jan. 1 for New Years' Day, but open Jan. 2.
