Lt. Col. Daniel N. Kulund, 319th Medical Group, shows off the “fighting stick” he developed. Colonel Kulund came up with the idea after seeing Airmen have trouble handling and lifting an M-16. The stick is a 40 inch long, 10 pound plastic pipe filled with sand. Colonel Kulund has also developed 15 exercises and defensive fighting drills to be used with the stick; this program has become an exercise staple at Grand Forks Air Force Base.
