Fire Prevention Week photo

Military children, parents, staff members, base fire department personnel and Sparky the Fire Dog pose for a group photo Oct. 12, 2012, at the Adult Child Center on Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D. Oct. 12, 2012. National Fire Prevention Week is conducted nationally during the second week in October with the purpose of educating the public on fire safety. The Grand Forks AFB Fire Department supports this national education initiative by hosting multiple events and visiting local schools to educate all ages about the danger of fire. To kick off the week’s festivities, Col. Timothy Bush, 319th Air Base Wing commander, signed the 2012 Fire Prevention Week proclamation alongside Sparky.
