aerspace medical technician competes at AMC Icon

Airman 1st Class Andrew Hicks, an aerospace medical technician with the 319th Medical Operations Squadron, performs for judges and guests attending the AMC Icon (base-level) singing competition, Aug. 16, 2012, at the Northern Lights Club on Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D. Hicks will represent Grand Forks AFB at the AMC Icon (major command-level) singing contest at Scott AFB, Ill., Oct. 25, 2012. Based loosely on the television show "American Idol," AMC Icon is an AMC commander's initiative to showcase the vocal talents of Air Mobility Command Airmen. Each AMC base holds Icon contests in July and August to determine their representatives for the final competition, which takes place at Scott AFB, Ill. Hicks, a 24-year-old native from Colorado Springs, Colo., said performing at the event means a lot to him. He described it as an opportunity to represent not only his base and unit, but his family and my hometown as well. (U.S. Air Force photo/Airman 1st Class Xavier Navarro)
