Tran helped search for and recover missing Vietnam War personnel
Capt. Huy Tran, an officer stationed at Grand Forks AFB, N.D., returned to his birth country of Vietnam this summer for the first time in eight years to help search for and recover missing Vietnam War personnel. In cooperation with the Joint Prisoners of War/Missing in Action Accounting Command, (JPAC), and the Language Enabled Airman Program (LEAP), Tran played a vital role as a Vietnamese linguist on a recovery mission to bring home service members missing from the Vietnam War Era. T-Rex goes airborne
Staff Sgt. Jessica Newton, 319th Security Forces Squadron military working dog handler, guides her K9 partner, T-Rex, through a window hurdle during an Iron Dog Course at Apollo Park on Aug. 13, 2014, in the city of Grand Forks, N.D. Airmen 1st Class Alex Shiverick takes off down a snow-covered trail on Feb. 25, 2012, as part of the 3rd Annual Cold Avenger’s End It Extreme North Dakota Iceman Triathlon in downtown Grand Forks, N.D. Shiverick, a pavement and equipment operator from the 319th Civil Engineer Squadron, pedaled the seven-mile long race aboard an 18-speed mountain bike cutting through up to 14 inches of snow along a trail that ran around trees, hills and over a very slippery, frozen Red River.
