Col. Eric D. Steele
Col Eric D. Steele is the Commander, 319th Operations Group, 319th Reconnaissance Wing, Grand Forks Air Force Base, North Dakota. He is responsible for the operations, maintenance, and training of the Air Force’s worldwide RQ-4B Global Hawk and E-11A aircraft and personnel. The Group consists of five operational squadrons and one maintenance squadron to train, maintain, and employ the RQ-4B (Block 40) Radar Technology Insertion Program (RTIP) and E-11A Battlefield Airborne Communication Node (BACN) aircraft in support of President of the United States, Secretary of Defense, and global Combatant Commander national security requirements. Colonel Timothy A. Monroe is the Commander, 319th Reconnaissance Wing, Grand Forks Air Force Base, North Dakota. As Commander, he is responsible for leading the premier reconnaissance wing comprised of three groups, 14 squadrons, and three detachments, executing a budget of $70 million, and employing aircraft, equipment and facilities valued at $3.8 billion.

Chief Master Sgt. Carl T. Vogel
Chief Master Sergeant Carl T. Vogel is the Command Chief, 319th Reconnaissance Wing, Grand Forks Air Force Base, North Dakota. As the command chief, he serves as the principle senior enlisted advisor to the wing commander on the morale, welfare, discipline, training, fitness and effective utilization of the base’s combat ready personnel assigned to the wing, and three detachments. The 319th Reconnaissance Wing executes a budget of $70 million, and employing aircraft, equipment and facilities valued at $3.8 billion. The wing trains, deploys, and redeploys over 2,200 Airmen in support of Air Expeditionary Force and combatant commander requirements. It also provides facilities and equipment support for the Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection, the Space Development Agency, and Defender support at Cavalier Space Force Station. The wing is one of two worldwide locations that operate the High Frequency Global Communication System, providing operational support of senior leader communications for all Department of Defense agencies, including the President of the United States.

Celebrating a century of game-changers: refueling demonstration scheduled to fly over Grand Forks
In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the first aerial refueling mission, the U.S. Air Force is conducting aerial refueling demonstrations throughout the United States and overseas June 27, 2023. The East Leg of the flight formation will flyover the University of North Dakota at approximately 4:22 p.m., continue to Grand Forks International Airport at approximately 4:26 p.m. and end at Grand Forks Air Force Base at approximately 4:28 p.m.
