2014 Fire Prevention Week: Putting Out the Flames
Julie McWalter, 319th Force Support Squadron marketing director, practices effectively using a portable fire extinguisher while Justin Haskamp, Grand Forks Air Force Base Fire Department fire inspector, offers instruction Oct. 8, 2014, at Grand Forks AFB, N.D. Members were able to put out a simulated fire on the BullEx Bullseye Extinguisher Training System which uses sensors to detect an infrared laser coming from the fire extinguisher to adjust the flames accordingly. The machine can sense movement to know how close or far away the individual is, and it can also be programmed to know what type of extinguisher is being used.
