Why is serving in the Air Force important to you?

Serving the Air Force is important to me because it gives me a feeling of self-accomplishment. It feels amazing to be a part of something that makes a large impact, instead of working a typical 9 to 5. I've always wanted to serve my country, so being a part of the 1 percent and having the satisfaction of serving and protecting my fellow Americans is a huge honor.

What moment or accomplishment as a Warrior of the North are you most proud of and why?
I am most proud of my rotation with the base honor guard. Being able to give back to those who gave for us by honoring the fallen gave me a feeling of great dignity and pride. Paying respects to those who truly put service before self was an experience I would not trade for anything.

What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of my job is being able to go out on site to different locations on base and learn more about what everyone else does. I also enjoy knowing that without my fellow client systems technicians and me, personnel would not be able to perform the duties they need to get done. Reason being, it brings me a feeling of importance and helps me feel like I have an impact on the mission.

Who inspires you and why?
The person who inspires me would have to be the rap artist, Eminem. Despite his rough life growing up, he was able to become one of the most successful artists ever in the music industry. The reason he inspires me is, because he proved to me that as long as you persevere, stay focused on your goal, and don't let any obstacles slow you down, you can be successful and make a difference.

What's the first thing that made you think Grand Forks Air Force Base was a cool place other than the temperature or weather?
The people here are awesome. It's nice to be able to have areas to go hunting and fishing. I am also stationed close to home.
