Airmen at the Grand Forks AFB legal office has been recently recognized for their dedication to teamwork and completing the mission to the highest standard.

Though three separate awards were given to three recipients, the merits and achievements did not come without workplace cooperation throughout the entire year.

Mr. Mark Hanson, Expeditionary Command outstanding Civilian Attorney of the Year for 2013, had more than just one occurrence in which he saw was the reason for so many achievements in one work area.

"I don't see any reason why I alone did anything to merit winning this award, but because of all the help from the people in my office and my supervisor," said Hanson. "This shop as a whole takes great care in being dedicated and conscientious in everything that we work on."

Another recipient of a legal award, Master Sgt. Jessica Taylor, winner of the Expeditionary Command Outstanding Paralegal Senior NCO of the Year for 2013 talks about how winning any award in the military is usually not accomplished without the help of others.
"Though the award is individual, it's not something you do on your own," said Taylor. "We have great teamwork in the office and that factor helps us get all of our work done very timely and efficiently."

Having a single person win any award is an accomplishment that can shine light on a unit and display their capabilities as a whole. Ms. Marie Aubry, Expeditionary Command Outstanding Legal Service Civilian of the Year for 2013 says the recognition they received was not only amazing but quite a surprise as not one but three people in her area including her won something.

" It's all about teamwork here, no matter what we do here we need to work as a team regardless of what section you work in because teamwork gets the job done correctly," said Aubrey.

Hanson went on to follow up with more on how teamwork oriented the legal office is and how much he appreciates the help he receives both in his office and from other agencies on base.

"These awards do not reflect an isolated incident for each of us, it reflects day to day hard work by the people in this office," said Hanson. "We try our best to make sure that the people of Grand Forks Air Force Base are taken care of, whether it be the service members themselves or their families because our job is to help them as best as we can."
