Why is serving in the Air Force Important to you?
I joined to gain new skills and experiences. Working for a decade prior to military service, I was described as militant in the manner in which I worked. I wanted to be around people who work hard with integrity, so I joined the world's greatest Air Force. Concerning the Air Force's importance within my life, it has afforded me opportunities and benefits that I have not found elsewhere.

What accomplishment as a warrior of the North are you most proud of and why?
Most of all, I am proud to be part of the Wing Staff finance team. Through hard work, incredible supervision and insightful guidance, I was selected to join the Base Honor Guard. I am exceedingly proud to present colors and honor to fallen warriors.

What is your favorite part of your job?
Imagine standing before a gathering of inconsolable people. You then watch as your partner folds a flag honorably. After taps plays and the dust settles, you look into the eyes of grieving next of kin. For a flickering moment, you represent everything great about a single fallen Airman and the USAF as a whole. Without a doubt, I feel increasingly honored to be a part of the Grand Forks Base Honor Guard.

Who Inspires you and why?
Daily, I am inspired by the efforts put forth by my coworkers. In the perseverance and triumphs of my fellow warriors of the north, I have found my first military home. I will cherish the memories I make and the airmen I meet. I am inspired by these Airmen to stand proudly and support great collective endeavors.

What's the first thing that made you think GFAFB was a cool place other than the temperature or weather?
I thought GFAFB was cool because of the global hawks. We have a unique mission and Airmen develop strong relationships on this base through the harsh winters. Through the bitter blizzards, we show how cool we can be. After a blizzard, one fellow airman organized a team of 20 airmen to clear the Eielson dorm of ice and snow. This allowed storm essential personnel to drive to work and insure the mission would continue. That makes GFAFB and its airmen pretty cool!
