Why is working at DeCA important to you?
Working at DecA is important to me because I have the opportunity to provide excellent customer service to our military men and women past and present.

What moment or accomplishment as a Warrior of the North (DeCA member) are you most proud of and why?
The moment I'm most proud of is when I received notification that our department had received the DeCA Produce Merchandising Contest Award because it made us feel that our hard work was acknowledged.

What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part is getting to meet and interact with different people and to make sure they receive the best customer service and product available.

Who or what inspires you and why?
The military men and women inspire me because they give the ultimate sacrifice without expecting anything in return.

What's the first thing that made you think Grand Forks Air Force Base was a cool place other than the temperature or weather?
The first thing that made me think Grand Forks Air Force Base was a cool place was the low crime rate and good education system.

Are you a veteran, or any of your loved ones?
Yes, I am a veteran. I served seven years in the Air Force and I made it to the rank of buck sergeant. My husband, Mohammed, retired as a technical sergeant after 24 years of service in the Air Force. And our son,  Stephon is an airman 1st class on active-duty service at Fairchild Air Force Base in the state of Washington.

Editor's note: The rank of buck sergeant existed in the Air Force from 1976 to 1991, this grade was divided into ranks with separate titles: sergeant [referred to unofficially but almost universally within the Air Force as "buck sergeant" or simply "buck"], a non-commissioned officer; and senior airman, which is the equivalent of specialist, but at the time was considered a non-supervisory rank. Senior airmen were promoted to sergeant after 12 months' time in grade and completion of a NCO preparatory course.
