Why is serving in the Air Force important to you?
Serving in the Air Force is important to me because it gives me the opportunity to make a positive impact on others. From providing security, to humanitarian missions, our mission improves the lives of people around the world.

What moment or accomplishment as a Warrior of the North are you most proud of and why?
The moment/accomplishment I'm most proud of as a Warrior of the North is when we were able to provide support during Hurricane Sandy. Knowing that what we did here in Grand Forks was able to help those back home on the East Coast while they were facing devastating times helped me to see that although we're geographically separated, we are still one big Air Force family.

What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of my job is working maintenance because it gives me the opportunity to take something that is broken and make it work again. It gives me a real sense of accomplishment. Every day I'm challenged with another problem to fix so it never gets boring.

Who or what inspires you and why?
I'm inspired by other veterans who have gone before me, especially Vietnam War veterans. Hearing their stories, and learning what they have gone thru and overcome helps me to realize how good we actually have it. It's something I believe shouldn't be taken for granted.

What's the first thing that made you think Grand Forks Air Force Base was a cool place other than the temperature or weather?
The first thing that made me think Grand Forks Air Force Base is an alright place to have as a first duty station is that the ops tempo. Things are not as fast-paced as other larger bases, so it allows for a lot of quality training time in my primary duties.
