Why is working at DeCA important to you?

Being a DeCA employee is important to me because I love being able to help bring quality products to service members at a fair price.

What moment or accomplishment as a Warrior of the North (DeCA member) are you most proud of and why?

When we go to offsite sales like Fargo or Devils Lake and the overall joy we bring when we come, or when they say "thank you" for just doing my job, that's my favorite part.

What is your favorite part of your job?

I love making people laugh.

Who or what inspires you and why?

John Garcia from Best Friends Animal Sanctuary where I volunteer truly inspires me. I love his passion for animals and his hopes that one day there will be no such thing as a homeless pet.

What's the first thing that made you think Grand Forks Air Force Base was a cool place other than the temperature or weather?

The overall quality of life and my family here in Grand Forks is what makes it a truly special place.

Do you have any military service or anyone close to you? If so when and where did they serve?

My father, sister, and brother have all served in the Armed Forces. My father, Clarence W. Nielsen Jr., and sister, Karen Tyler, both served in the Air Force, while my brother Martin Nielsen served in the Navy.
