Some people may help others because they want to, others because they feel they have to, and for some it just comes natural. Fortunately for Master Sgt. Ashley M. K. Williams, 319th Force Support Squadron career assistance advisor, this ability both comes natural and is a focal point of her job.

"I love coming to work every day," said Williams. "I believe in the Air Force, and I feel like I owe my experiences to Airmen to help them grow; just as others have done for me. I'm blessed to be able to do what I do."

Sergeant Williams assists Airmen in making suitable, necessary and career-oriented decisions that will help them succeed in the future. Having served now for over 16 years, her past has given her the opportunity to share her experiences and "go-getter" attitude all across the globe.

"I have been to more than 25 countries," said the New Hampshire native. "I also spent 11 years overseas, both stationed and deployed. I call wherever the Air Force stations me, home."

While she currently lives in Grand Forks, every summer Williams takes the opportunity visit what the rest of her family calls home in beautiful Cape Cod, Mass., where the entire family enjoys time together on the beach.

Family has played a large role in the overall success and decision making of Sergeant William's career.

"I never had intentions of joining the Air Force, but was highly encouraged by my father," said Williams. "As soon as I got in I loved it. I've been able to deal with many different people and cultures, and I think those experiences have trained me to deal with any type of transition."

Transition for potential retirement from the Air Force and plans regarding the future have yet to be determined by Sergeant Williams.

"I don't know what I want to be when I grow up," she laughed. "Whenever I'm helping someone out with their future plans, I live vicariously through them. I don't even know what my dream job is. I think I found my niche dealing and helping people."

As you may have gathered, the motivated master sergeant is passionate about her work.

"I put my uniform on and it's game-time," she said. "It's the super bowl every day for me."

When the duty days are done and the weekends arrive, Williams knows exactly how to spend her time.

"Spending time with family and friends are my off-duty activities," said Williams, who is married to Master Sgt. Andre Williams, 319th Operations Support Squadron. "Family comes first. My main hobby is taking care of my daughter. I encourage her to fulfill all her hopes and dreams."

Williams is also a reality TV junkie who says that watching all the housewives series is "her thing," and is the proud owner of two Shih Tzus, Squirt and Pepper.
