Airman 1st Class Tiffany Barrios, 319th Force Support Squadron, considers herself a very shy individual. Her recent accolades, however, are much harder to keep quiet.

Airman Barrios was named Airman of the Quarter for the 319th FSS both for the fourth quarter of 2010 and the first quarter of 2011. And in her displayed performance of excellence, it may be hard to keep the motivated Airman from reaching her ultimate goal.

"I would like to make Chief," said Airman Barrios. "I definitely plan and hope to make a career out of the Air Force, whether it is 20 or even 30 years."

The former high school softball player is currently a force management journeyman, and assists fellow Airmen in a variety of ways.

"We respond to a lot of different requests," said Barrios. "We work with topics from updating Enlisted Performance Reports to assisting Airmen with both in and out processing for special duty and all other types of assignment changes."

While military personnel duties should keep her busy for years to come, Airman Barrios sees language as a staple for her future beyond the Air Force.

"I plan to get a degree in sign-language," said Barrios. "I enjoy working with children and would love the opportunity to work with deaf children."

Airman Barrios' desire to communicate in multiple ways does not stop there.

"My number one dream job would be a linguist," she said. "Specifically I would like to learn Chinese because I think it would be awesome to learn and surround myself with different cultures."

When it comes to the culture at work, Airman Barrios is content with the people that surround her on a daily basis.

"My favorite part of the job is the interaction with customers," she said. "And everyone in the office gets along -- I'm happy with this job."

The proud Chihuahua owner spends much of her free time in the library, where she prefers to indulge in a good mystery. Airman Barrios is also a football fan and remains loyal to her home-state team -- the Dallas Cowboys.
