Take the prospect of bright lights and fame, a universally known name, winning shot of the game and a lifestyle opposite of tame -- and throw it out the window. That's just the way Senior Airman Brison King, 319th Medical Support Squadron, wants it.

"Most people don't know I come across as shy because I don't want to be in the spotlight," said the Texas native. "I'd rather be the guy in the back that can help others as much as possible."

That characteristic bodes well with his every day duties in medical materiel acquisitions, where Airman King is responsible for ordering and maintaining inventory of all the clinics' medical equipment.

"Medical logistics is pretty much the backbone of the clinic," said the soft-spoken Airman. "We work to get all the supplies and needs of all the doctors, nurses and technicians. Without us, they don't have the tools necessary to complete the mission."

It is a mission Airman King is dedicated to accomplish, thanks in large part to his mentors.

"I am a direct reflection of my leadership -- from my direct NCO all the way up the entire chain of command," said the president of "Club Med," a private booster organization dedicated to boosting the morale of Airmen. "Without their direction and guidance, I would probably be lost as an Airman."

Deflecting recognition comes natural and remains a focus for the former Honor Guard Ceremonial Guardsmen award recipient.

"Honestly, my main goals are to stay humble and put the Lord first in everything I do," said Airman King, who has been named Airman of the Quarter on two separate occasions. "I know that in time, all things will work out."

In the meantime, Airman King is two classes away from obtaining his CCAF, one roadblock on his growing "to-do" list.

"My dream job, and a future goal of mine, is to obtain a degree in psychology," he said. "I would like to counsel and work with youth. I consider myself a great listener and I'm always willing to listen to anyone."

A selfless husband to wife, Tie, and father to sons Sincere and Kamari, Airman King remains optimistic about the future.

"I am just grateful for each and every day I have here."
