Warrior of the Week: Senior Airman Kyle Brophy

Every week, a member of the 376th Air Expeditionary Wing is selected as the Warrior of the Week. This individual is recognized based on outstanding performance, good conduct, work ethic and most importantly, for a job well done.

Meet the Warrior of the Week -- Senior Airman Kyle Brophy is a 376th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron patrolman from Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D. He is a native of St. Peters, Mo.

Here's what Brophy has to say about himself and his deployment.

What do you do on a daily basis at the Transit Center? Patrol the Transit Center, deter and detect any unusual or suspicious activity and enforce laws and regulations.

What do you enjoy about being at the Transit Center? Working with everyone on base from all other career fields and supporting the war in Afghanistan.

Why did you choose to serve in the military? I decided to serve to give back to my country and defend freedom while bettering myself.

How do you feel about your contributions to the Transit Center mission and current operations in the area of responsibility? I feel I have made a positive impact on the mission by bettering myself physically and mentally. I feel I have supported operations in the AOR by providing airtight security at the Transit Center.

Family: Single.

Time at the Transit Center: Five months.

Time in military: 3 years, 4 months.

Greatest accomplishment: I was named the 2010 Airman of the year at Vogelweh, Germany.

Goals you want to achieve or meet while at the Transit Center: I want to finish my Community College of the Air Force degree, further my education, give back to the community and better my fitness.

Hobbies: I enjoy sports, hunting, fishing and working out.

Your best habit: Finishing every task at hand to the best of my ability.

Favorite movies: "Good Will Hunting," "A Few Good Men" and "Saving Private Ryan."

Who is your favorite mentor and what did you learn from him/her: My mother, she taught me to do the very best in everything I do.

If you could spend one hour with any person, who would it be and why: Bill Gates, because he has accomplished so much and is one of the richest men in the world.
