During the day he keeps base communications at an optimal level, but by night he plays, records and produces music.

Senior Airman David Stimson, a client systems technician with the 319th Communications Squadron, said he wasn't really doing anything as a civilian living in Omaha, so he figured he would do something about that.

"I fell into the slump that every day was just the same day over and over again, so I decided to make a change and join the Air Force," Stimson said.

Now, Stimson is tasked with jobs such as repairing computers, replacing computer hardware and establishing network activity on Grand Forks AFB.

His work day consists of energy drinks and traveling all over the base responding to communication issues.

"I like my job but it is very demanding," said Stimson. "I'm always moving from building to building."

When the day is over and his time away from work begins, Stimson creates what he calls "works of art" through music.

Among his many musical talents, Stimson has played the piano since he was four years old.

He said he loves recording and producing music for himself and others. He feels that his music products should be the best they can be.

"Like my work as a CST, any music I record and produce for myself and other people must be perfect," said Stimson.

With a dislike of only polka music, Stimson has a broad horizon of music to mix. He said he dabbles with rock, rap, and techno while creating his own masterpieces in the process.

Stimson said he will continue to work hard at his job but will continue crafting music with what time he has away from work.

"It's the sounds you love flowing to a special kind of metronome," said Stimson. "Music is the passion of your creativity put into a heartbeat."
