1. Why is serving in the Air Force important to you? I first joined the military to lead a different lifestyle and to travel. While I haven't traveled much in my career, I feel I do live a different lifestyle than my peers I grew up with. The reason I decided to re-enlist was that the Air Force gave me a feeling of pride and that I was a part of something bigger than myself.

2. What accomplishment as a Warrior of the Week are you most proud of and why? The accomplishment that I am most proud of as a Warrior of the North is getting a 96 percent on our recent inspection. It was great to see the result of everyone's hard work.

3. What is your favorite part of your job? My favorite part is the variety of our job. Public Health covers everything from the deployment medicine program, food safety and sanitation program, occupational health program, to the communicable disease program. At tech school we used to joke by saying, "public health; everything from AIDS to zucchinis."

4. Who inspires you and why? Over my life time my mother has been a big inspiration to me for being a strong independent person. Nothing was out of her reach. If she wanted something she worked hard to get it. In my military career, my husband has been a big inspiration. He is always pushing me to work harder at everything I do.

5. What's the first thing that made you think Grand Forks Air Force Base was a cool place other than the temperature or weather?
Coming from Hanscom Air Force Base outside of Boston, I find myself enjoying the small town community feel over the busy city life. I definitely enjoy the fact that there is no rush hour traffic to deal with here.
