Rank and name:
Staff Sgt. Adrian Jensen

Unit: 319th Logistic Readiness Squadron

Duty title: Individual Protection Equipment NCO

Time in service: 9 years, 4 months

Hometown: Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.

Why is serving in the Air Force important to you?
Being active-duty in the U.S Air Force is important to me because not only is my service ensuring the rights and safety of my friends, family and nation, it's also helping others in foreign countries to have the chance to live under the same privileges we have today.

What moment or accomplishment as a Warrior of the North are you most proud of and why?
The accomplishment I'm most proud of is when people come into our warehouse and say how organized and different it looks here. The IPE team works really hard and everything is done by hand so even when our own members are gone it's great to see that we can still keep it together and get the job done and everyone, not only our squadron, notices.

What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of my job is getting to interact with everyone in the (319th Air Base) Wing. Luckily I work in a section where we get to see everyone off for deployment and welcome them home when they return.

Who inspires you and why?
My mom inspires me more than anyone in the world because no matter how much she gets knocked down, she always gets up and back at it ten times stronger. She's taught me that one person can make a difference if they believe in themselves first.

What's the first thing that made you think Grand Forks Air Force Base was a cool place other than the temperature or weather?
The first thing that made me think Grand Forks Air Force Base was cool was when I got to see the gym for the first time. I came from a joint base, and I have to say I was shocked that this tiny, little base had such a massive, state-of-the-art gym, with a climbing wall!
