Warriors of the North look to take flight Published Aug. 30, 2016 By Senior Airman Ryan Sparks 319th Air Base Wing Public Affairs GRAND FORKS AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- The Warriors of the North had the opportunity to learn about the Air Force flight attendant career field here August 29. Members of the 89th Airlift Wing, Joint Base Andrews, Md., visited Grand Forks AFB to educate and recruit Airmen for the flight attendant career field. Airmen had the opportunity to speak with current flight attendants and tour one of the aircraft they might be required to serve on. Maj. Anthony Cannone, 89th Operations Group director of personnel, believes this opportunity is great for the Airman that wants to travel. He said many Airmen join to see the world and flight attendants get to make seeing the world their career field. The 89th Airlift Wing serves the vice-president and first lady of the United States, secretary of state, secretary of defense, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, combatant commanders, foreign dignitaries and members of Congress. Staff Sgt. Darren Charmaine De Los Reyes, 319th Logistics Readiness Squadron fleet management analyst, was recently selected to become a part of the flight attendant career field. “Becoming a flight attendant is a dream come true. The opportunity that was given to me is very unique and not many people will have this opportunity,” said De Los Reyes. “What I’m looking forward to most is serving alongside some of the top ranking officials in the U.S. while they make history every day.”
