Grand Forks AFB Fire Dept. set to host Fire Prevention Week events for 2013

The Grand Forks Air Force Base Fire Department is hosting the following series of events in observance of National Fire Prevention Week.

· Oct. 7
(10:30 a.m.-1p.m.) - Fire Safety Booth at Airey Dining Facility: Focus on kitchen safety for dorm residence.

· Oct. 8
(9 a.m.-1p.m.) - Eielson Elementary: Fire truck display with gear, Sparky meet and greet, and E.D.I.T.H. (Exit Drills In The Home) trailer demonstrations.

· Oct. 9
(2:15-3:15 p.m.) - Twining Elementary: Rally with briefing on home fire safety.

(10:30-11:30 a.m.) - Fire Safety Booth at the Exchange

· Oct. 10
(9:30-10:30 a.m.) - Child Development Center: Fire truck display with gear, meet Sparky, and E.D.I.T.H. (Exit Drills In The Home) trailer demonstrations.

(3:45-4:45p.m.) - Youth Center: Fire truck display with gear, Sparky meet and greet, and E.D.I.T.H. (Exit Drills In The Home) trailer demonstrations.

· Oct. 11
(noon-4 p.m.) -Fire Department Open House/Closing Ceremony: Guided tours for kids and families around the fire station. There will also be a Firefighter Challenge course set up for guests to try. Fire Prevention Week will culminate with the extinguishing of the fire extinguisher trainer at approximately 4 p.m.
