Grand Forks joins myMC2 app family Published Oct. 16, 2013 By Staff Sgt. David Dobrydney 319th Air Base Wing Public Affairs GRAND FORKS AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- The 319th Air Base Wing is now the latest Air Force unit to join the My Military Communities digital app project. The myMC2 app allows events posted on Facebook to be displayed on mobile devices automatically. While the 319th ABW was not the first to add this app to its range of communication tools, it promises to have a significant impact. "This will be a boon to our agencies on base when it comes to advertising events for our community," said Col. Paul Bauman, 319th ABW commander. When the app is downloaded onto a smartphone or tablet, the next four to six base events will be displayed. Each event, when clicked, will display a popup with more information. The event popup will include the host organization, location, start date/time, end date/time, and description. There is also a Directory tab which displays a list of all the organizations for your installation. The first app created specifically for showing Air Force events, organizations and services on smartphones and tablets, myMC2 has already been adopted at 44 Air Force bases and grown to more than 27,000 users. "I highly encourage everyone to download this app," Bauman urged. "The more participation, the more effective it will be." Further information about the myMC2 app and how it works can be found here.
