The Judge's Bench: March UCMJ actions Published March 26, 2015 By 319th Air Base Wing Legal Office GRAND FORKS AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- The following personnel at Grand Forks AFB were punished under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) in March 2015: Non-judicial Punishment Actions An Airman from the 319th Communications Squadron received an Article 15 for AWOL, failure to go, and dereliction of duty. The 319th CS commander imposed the following punishment: forfeiture of $500 x2 and a reprimand. Court-Martial An Airman 1st Class from the 319th Security Forces Squadron faced a Summary Court-Martial on March 17, 2015, for one charge and three specifications for wrongful use, possession, and distribution of marijuana, a schedule I controlled substance, in violation of Article 112a, Uniform Code of Military Justice, and one charge and one specification for attempt to conspire to distribute marijuana, a schedule I controlled substance in violation of Article 80, UCMJ. Pursuant to a pretrial agreement, the Airman 1st Class was tried in a Summary Court-Martial proceeding, where he pled guilty to all charges and specifications. The Summary Court-Martial Officer sentenced him to: reduction to the grade of airman basic, forfeiture of $1,031 pay for one month, and confinement for 30 days.
