Cavalier AFS hosts Harlem Ambassadors event Published Sept. 30, 2015 By 2nd Lt. Brandy Benesch 10th Space Warning Squadron CAVALIER, N.D. -- It was a night full of entertainment September 28 for the 10th Space Warning Squadron here. Cavalier Air Force Station hosted a fun-filled Harlem Ambassadors event at the Cavalier Public School where the CAFS Instigators, a hodge-podge group of local talent and members from Cavalier AFS, took on the famous Harlem Ambassadors. Earlier in the day, the Ambassadors delivered a serious anti-bullying message within an interactive show during a school assembly. The evening show offered a unique brand of basketball, featuring high-flying slam dunks, ball-handling tricks, comedy routines, music, dancing, and games for the kids. "I've never had so much fun being graciously humiliated in front of a crowd of over 200 people," said 2nd Lt. Evan Westbrook, who played for the Instigators. "It was an honor and a privilege to be utterly dominated in every aspect of the game." "This was a fantastic event bringing the 10 SWS team and Cavalier public together to share an electric and entertaining event. It was my honor to bring the Harlem Ambassadors to our Cavalier community," said Lt. Col. John Koehler II, 10th Space Warning Squadron commander and Instigators player. The Harlem Ambassadors provide fundraising and entertainment events to non-profit organizations, community groups, and the U.S. military. They have helped community service organizations raise more than $9 million since 1998. In addition to providing fundraising events, the Harlem Ambassadors entertain troops at U.S. military bases overseas and at home.
