Joey Barefield 319th Legal Office GRAND FORKS AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- Courts-martial On 15 May 2008, Airman 1st Class Andrew Ferguson, 319th Maintenance Squadron, was tried by a general court-martial. He pled guilty to and was convicted of one charge and two specifications in violation of Article 80, Uniformed Code of Military Justice, for attempting to transfer obscene material to a minor over the internet. He also pled guilty to and was convicted of a charge, with one specification in violation of Article 134, UCMJ, for wrongfully exposing his body to an audience over the internet, and one specification of possessing images of minors engaged in sexual conduct. Specifically, the member contacted a person he thought to be a minor, actually a law enforcement officer, over the internet. He transferred obscene images of himself and communicated indecent language to the law enforcement officer. The member also possessed multiple images of child pornography on his computer. The adjudged sentence was 12 months confinement, a Bad Conduct Discharge, total forfeitures of pay and allowances, and reduction in grade to Airman Basic. The member will also be required to register as a sex offender and undergo DNA processing. On May 22, 2008, Airman 1st Class Andrew Schneidt, 319th Operations Support Squadron, was tried by a special court-martial. He pled guilty to and was convicted of one charge and four specifications in violation of Article 123a, UCMJ, for unlawfully uttering checks without sufficient funds for their payment. He also pled guilty to and was convicted of one charge and one specification in violation of Article 121, UCMJ, larceny, and one charge and three specifications in violation of Article 134, UCMJ, for uttering worthless checks by dishonorably failing to maintain funds in his bank account. Specifically, the member stole $28,250 from the USAA Federal Savings Bank through a series of electronic transfers. He also uttered over $10,000 of worthless checks to several businesses. The adjudged sentence was six months confinement, a Bad Conduct Discharge, and reduction to Airman Basic. Discharges A Senior Airman from the 319th Operations Support Squadron received an Honorable Discharge for Mental Disorders. An Airman Basic from the 319th Security Forces Squadron received a General discharge for Minor Disciplinary Infractions. Articles 15 An Airman 1st Class from the 319th Aeromedical Dental Squadron received an Article 15 for making a False Official Statement. The punishment consisted of a suspended reduction to Airman, 30 days extra duty and a reprimand. An Airman 1st Class from the 319th Aeromedical Dental Squadron received an Article 15 for Insubordinate Conduct toward a Noncommissioned Officer. Specifically, the member disobeyed a direct verbal order from a Senior Noncommissioned Officer. The punishment consisted of seven days extra duty. An Airman 1st Class from the 319th Air Refueling Wing received an Article 15 for Failure to Obey Order or Regulation. Specifically, the member was reported driving on base while base driving privileges were suspended. The punishment consisted of a reduction to Airman, forfeiture of $100 pay for two months, restriction to Grand Forks Air Force Base for 30 days, 30 days extra duty, and a reprimand. An Airman from the 319th Air Refueling Wing received an Article 15 for one specification of Dereliction of Duty and one specification of Failure to Go. The punishment consisted of a suspended reduction to Airman Basic, forfeiture of $100 pay for a month, and a reprimand. A Senior Airman from the 319th Force Support Squadron received an Article 15 for Failure to Go. Specifically, the member missed a scheduled dental appointment. The punishment consisted of a reduction to Airman First Class and a reprimand. A Senior Airman from the 319th Force Support Squadron received an Article 15 for Indecent or Lewd Acts with Another. The punishment consisted of a reduction to Airman First Class and a reprimand. An Airman 1st Class from the 319th Logistics Readiness Squadron received an Article 15 for Carrying a Concealed Weapon. Specifically, the member was seen displaying a butterfly knife inside a bar and allegedly seen by witnesses to be waving and pointing a gun at people outside the bar. The punishment consisted of a suspended reduction to Airman and 30 days extra duty. A Senior Airman from the 319th Operations Support Squadron received an Article 15 for Driving Under the Influence. The punishment consisted of a reduction to Airman First Class. A Staff Sergeant from the 319th Security Forces Squadron received an Article 15 for Failure to Obey Order or Regulation. Specifically, the member violated a no contact order. The punishment consisted of a suspended reduction to Senior Airman, 15 days extra duty, and a reprimand.
