Show your doctor you care: Celebrate Doctors’ Day March 30 Published Feb. 6, 2009 By Tiffany Anderson TriWest Healthcare Alliance GRAND FORKS AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- Take a moment to share why your favorite doctor is your favorite, and do it in celebration of a special day, Doctors' Day, March 30. Doctors' Day recognizes the doctors who care for America's finest. Patients across the nation can show their appreciation for what doctors do every day to keep us fit for duty. A little praise and a heartfelt thank-you go a long way, so give that great doctor an electronic pat on the back by placing a comment on TriWest's "Salute Your TRICARE Doctors 2009" group page on Facebook or www.triwest.com/docthanks to tell us how a doctor has made a positive difference in your life. Submissions will be accepted through March 13. TriWest Healthcare Alliance administers TRICARE as a contractor for the Department of Defense and manages a network of approximately 145,000 civilian TRICARE network providers in 21 western states. TRICARE's doctors across the country are making the difference in the lives of service members and their families. And in so doing, they're helping in a real way to defend the nation by allowing those who are standing in harm's way to focus on the mission, without worrying if their families are getting the care they need. Doctors' Day, established in 1991, is celebrated on March 30 because on that day in 1842, anesthesia was first used in surgery.
