319th ARW presented Air Force Outstanding Unit Award Published Nov. 9, 2009 By Senior Airman R. Michael Longoria 319th Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs GRAND FORKS AFB, N.D. -- The 319th Air Refueling Wing has been awarded the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award for outstanding performance from July 1, 2008, until June 30, 2009, announced Nov. 3 by Gen. Arthur J. Lichte, Air Mobility Command commander. All Airmen assigned to the 319th ARW during the specified period are authorized to immediately begin wearing the associated ribbon. "Congratulations," said General Lichte. "All units should take great pride in their contributions to AMC and the Air Force mission." According to Air Force Personnel Office, the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award is presented by the secretary of the Air Force to units that have distinguished themselves by exceptionally meritorious service or outstanding achievement that clearly sets the unit above and apart from similar units. The ribbon has a narrow red stripe, flanked by a thin white stripe, a wide blue stripe, a thin white stripe, edged with a narrow red stripe.
