Security incidents are on the rise.

According to Chris Engler, 319th Air Refueling Wing Information Protection, the last three incidents on Grand Forks Air Force Base involved personal cell phones being carried during classified briefings.

"All personnel must stay vigilant and watch out for their wingmen so there is no compromise of classified information," said 2nd Lt. Benjamin J. Germano, 319th Comptroller Squadron security manager.

With the advancements in technology, all Airmen need to be aware of the possibilities of what can be done with their cell phones, iPods, etc. For more information on this topic, click here. http://www.newsweek.com/id/200878

"Inquiries are still being done but with advanced technology information officers will have a hard time clearing cell phones," said Mr. Engler.

If cell phones are unable to be 100 percent cleared, destruction will be the only method appropriate for ensuring no compromise of classified information.

"Simply put, if you take your cell phone into a classified area, it will be destroyed," said Lieutenant Germano.
