2010 CENSUS Door-to-door at Grand Forks AFB Published April 29, 2010 By 2010 U.S. Census Bureau 2010 U.S. Census Bureau GRAND FORKS AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- As of April 20, 71 percent of the nation's households have mailed back their 2010 Census forms. With your cooperation Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D. has exceeded the nation's average at 75 percent. Starting May 1, the U.S. Census Bureau is preparing for the door-to-door follow-up phase of the 2010 Census. Grand Forks AFB will have CENSUS takers going door-to-door for individuals who haven't sent in their forms. If a census taker comes to your house, here's what you should do: · First ask to see their identification. All census workers carry official government badges marked with just their name; they may also have a "U.S. Census Bureau" bag or Orange vest · Note that the census taker will never ask to enter your home · If you're still not certain about their identity, please call the Regional Census Centers at (720)475-3640 to confirm they are employed by the Census Bureau · Answer the census form questions for your entire household (you must be at least 15 years old to answer questions) so that the census taker can record the results for submission to the Census Bureau. Should the census taker come when you are away from your home, they will leave a contact number.
