Michael Longoria 319th Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs GRAND FORKS AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- The Grand Forks Air Force Base Lodging Office underwent a system upgrade, which converted their current lodging management system to a web-based version July 12 to 17. With the new system, Warrior Inn will be able to provide faster and more secure service. "Guests experienced some minor delays at check-in during the transition but the upgrade went smoothly," said Daniel J. Becker, 319th Force Support Squadron lodging manager. The Warrior Inn will now be using the Defense Lodging System, or DLS, which allows guest to make reservations online through www.DoDLodging.net. Reservations may still be made by calling the guest reception desk at (701) 747-7200. "The Warrior Inn guest reception desk is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week," said Mr. Decker during an e-mail interview. Regardless of how you book your room, guests on temporary duty or moving to Grand Forks AFB may make reservations as soon as they receive their orders. Space available customers may make reservations up to 120 days in advance. Other benefits to the new system include: - A signature-capture device and credit card functions that eliminate duplication of credit card records. - Improved security of guest data and credit card information. - Automated e-mails inviting guests to an online comment card after check-out. - Centralized data storage and eliminate requirement for back-up systems and procedures at every base. - Reduced amount of paper used for receipts, records and reports.
