The 319th Force Support Squadron hosted the 5th annual Super Bowl Extravaganza Jan. 29th at JR Rockers and the Northern Lights Club here.

The event brought together over 500 Airmen, friends and family for an evening full of food, fun and prizes. Every attendee was provided with ten raffle tickets and bingo cards that were used to give away over $25,000 in prizes, among which included autographed footballs, jerseys and helmets. The final bingo game of the night determined the winner of the grand prize, the option to attend an all-expenses paid trip to Super Bowl XLV in Dallas, Texas, or $5,000.

That winner was Senior Airman Wesley Orr, 319th Communications Squadron, who opted to take the money.

"This is awesome," said Orr. "The first thing I'm going to do is pay off my car. I'd like to say thank you to everyone who helped set up this event."

An event as large as this requires year-round hard work and is very important to the base community.

"It is a focus of ours to hold events that provide a sense of community to all the Airmen here at Grand Forks," said Col. Don Shaffer, 319th Air Refueling Wing commander. "When you can get more than 500 people together on a night like this, it definitely fits the purpose of providing that community."

Anyone that missed out on this year's event or wants a second shot at a free Super Bowl trip has no need to worry.

"We've already started working on next year's event," said Don Fellers, 319th FSS deputy director. "We literally scour the country to find the best deals for those who attend. It just gets better and better every year."
