Lt. Col. Jason Buckner took over control of the 319th Medical Support Squadron during an assumption-of-command ceremony here March 22.

"What a joy this is for me today--a dream come true," said Buckner. "I am excited to join the Warriors of the North as we fight together as a team."

Colonel Buckner served most recently as the TRICARE Operations and Patient Administration Flight Commander at Travis Air Force base, Calif. and was twice selected for assignments through the Air Force Institute of Technology. He first completed a Master's program through Baylor University, and then served an Education With Industry tour at the department of Veterans Affairs. He has served in several different career fields, including three separate positions as a chief financial officer and also as a senior health policy analyst.

"It is a great privilege and honor to be given the opportunity to lead people of the 319th MDSS," said Colonel Buckner. "I am grateful to be able to carry our flag and get to work."
