Grand Forks adjusts force protection condition

GRAND FORKS AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- Officials at Grand Forks Air Force Base have increased the Force Protection Condition from Alpha to Bravo.

The Department of Defense uses FPCONs to recommend preventive actions and responses to threats against its facilities. Force protection safeguards the people and resources required to perform a war-fighting mission.

There is currently no specific threat to Grand Forks, however, U.S. Northern Command officials deemed it necessary to adjust the FPCON levels at all military installations worldwide.

The force protection condition will remain in place until further notice.
