The Judge's Bench: September UCMJ actions

The following members of the 319th Air Base Wing were punished under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) in September 2011:

Nonjudicial Punishment Actions:

· An airman first class from the 319th Security Forces Squadron received an Article 15 for being derelict in the performance of his duties by sleeping while on post. The following punishment was imposed: Reduction to the grade of airman (suspended), forfeiture of $822.00 pay per month for two months (one month of which was suspended) and a reprimand.

· An airman first class from the 319th Communications Squadron received an Article 15 for being derelict in the performance of his duties by negligently failing to take the proper steps to ensure he was receiving the correct amount of pay after returning from deployment. The following punishment was imposed: 30 days restriction, 30 days extra duty and a reprimand.

· A staff sergeant from the 319th Civil Engineering Squadron received an Article 15 for being derelict in the performance of his duties by willfully failing to refrain from using his Government Travel Card while not authorized. The following punishment was imposed: Reduction to the grade of senior airman (suspended); forfeiture of $500.00 pay per month for two months, 30 days extra duty and a reprimand.

· A staff sergeant from the 319th Security Forces Squadron received an Article 15 for wrongfully using Codeine (in cough syrup) a Schedule V controlled substance. The following punishment was imposed: Reduction to the grade of senior airman (suspended) and a reprimand.
