The Airman and Family Readiness Center at Grand Forks Air Force Base is scheduled to host several events in observance of this year's Military Saves Week.

"It's a good way for people to start to take control of their finances," said Thomas R. Slaughter, with the center.

The events are open to the military community and include:
  • Feb. 21, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Information fair and financial table displays, EZ Leave and Earning Statement class for both members and spouses. Enjoy hotdogs, popcorn and beverages.
  • Feb 22, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: Thrift Savings Plan briefing and investment information.
  • Feb. 23, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Kids invited to watch video presentations on smart money and to decorate a free personal piggy bank at Liberty Square
  • Feb. 24, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.: Budget assistance and free popcorn.
Guests will be provided their respective FICO (Fair Isaac Corporation) score for free during each of the events. The FICO score is a type of credit score that makes up a substantial portion of the credit report that lenders use to assess an applicant's credit risk and whether to extend a loan.

All events - except for the kids' day - will take place at the Airman and Family Readiness Center. Call (701)-747-3241 for more information.
