Wing leaders are hosting a Feb. 23 town hall meeting to discuss the pending privatization of on-base housing that will take place early this summer.

The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the Northern Lights Club, and all base housing residents are encouraged to attend.

The Air Force selected Balfour Beatty Communities to privatize base housing across four states for six U.S. Air Force base communities, to include Grand Forks AFB.

A total of 833 homes will be turned over to Balfour Beatty at Grand Forks; 286 of those will be demolished during the Initial Development Plan, leaving an end-state of 547 homes on the base.

Balfour Beatty Communities, LLC, a subsidiary of Balfour Beatty Capital Group, Inc., is responsible for the development, renovation, operation and management of military housing privatization projects for the Departments of the Air Force, Army and Navy. The company is a leader in the military housing public-private partnership industry, and provides services to members of the military and their families residing on or near 43 installations located in 20 states and Washington, D.C. Based in Newtown Square, Penn., the company employs approximately 1,000 people nationwide.
