The University of North Dakota is hosting a public discussion on national security issues featuring military officers from the U.S. Army War College on March 19 at 7 p.m. in Clifford Hall 210.

The presentation is part of the U.S. Army War College Eisenhower National Security Lecture Series, and is being hosted by the UND Center for Community in cooperation with several other UND and community programs and military committees, according to a university news release.

Guest speakers for the discussion are: U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Col. Curtis Mason, U.S. Navy Cmdr. Michael S. Matis, U.S. Air Force Col. David Morrissey and U.S Army Lt. Col. Brian Scott.

The program is part of the War College's communication and outreach program designed to encourage dialogue on national security and other public policy issues between its students and the public, according to the release.

The visiting officers will discuss national public policy and current social issues and their impact on the U.S. Armed Forces.

Though the members will address government policies, the views they express are their own, based on personal experience, research, academic study, and reflection, according to Dr. Larry Miller, one of the Eisenhower Series advisors, who will accompany the officers.
