Grand Forks AFB Spouses’ Club offering scholarships Published April 9, 2012 319th Air Base Wing Public Affairs GRAND FORKS AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- The Grand Forks Air Force Base Spouses' Club wants to help you pay for college. The club is offering scholarships to high school seniors and Air Force spouses, with an April 27, 2012, deadline. The scholarship selection committee "considers an applicant's community service, special interests, talent and exceptional qualifications," according to the club. Graduating seniors in the class of 2012 who are dependents of active-duty military sponsors and who have a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average - including those in home school programs - are eligible. Dependents of retired or deceased military members are also eligible if the applicant resides in the local area. Applicants related to current members of the scholarship selection or judging committees are not eligible. Neither are prior scholarship winners. Scholarships are not limited to any specific field of study and may be used by full-time students only in any accredited vocational, technical school, college or university. Scholarships must be claimed by May 1, 2013, and used for tuition and books during the 2012-13 school year. Application packets are available at www.grandforksafbspousesclub.com.
