The program - Planning Your Teenager's Future - is scheduled for 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on April 30, 2012, at the Community Activity Center auditorium. Loans, scholarships and FASFA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) will be discussed, as well as how and where to apply for the programs. The workshop will inform parents and children of the benefits of the GI Bill and how it can be used. "It's mainly on how to prepare them for that transition to college," said Kelly Painter, school liaison officer for the base. There will be information about going directly to the workplace after graduation, joining the military, or going to a four year college and how to get scholarships, said Painter. Laura Lininger will serve as the parent lead for the workshop, and subject matter experts such as military advisers and career counselors will speak. "We have experts that will inform parents of any choice their children may have and tell them who they can contact about such opportunities," said Painter. Call 631-0194 for more information.
