First mosquito spraying canceled

  • Published
The first of three planned mosquito spraying sessions on base has been canceled, according to base officials.

Officials will not spray for mosquitos from May 14-18, as previously announced.

Additional spraying sessions will be conducted later in the season, however. They will take place on June 25-29 and Aug. 6-10.

Base occupants are recommended to remain indoors during all the spraying sessions.

The purpose is to lower the number of mosquito bite irritations and infections, and to minimize the threat of West Nile Virus.
