  • Published
The Main Gate will close at 6 a.m. on June 5, 2012, and remain closed until about Aug. 10, 2012, due to a construction project.

Personnel will be able to access the base through the South Gate (Gate 2) and the Twining School Gate, but all traffic must exit through the South Gate.

Hours of operation are as follows:

Twining Elementary School Gate (about ΒΌ mile north of the Main Gate on County Road B3) will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday. This gate will be used for inbound, privately-owned vehicle traffic only. Commercial vehicles must enter through the South Gate.

South Gate will remain open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Personnel will be allowed to enter this gate anytime of the day. All traffic leaving the installation - private or commercial - must exit through the South Gate.

Visitor Control Center (VCC) hours of operation will remain the same, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday. The VCC will only be accessible from off base.

Commercial Visitor Control Center hours of operation will remain the same, 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday-Friday. All commercial vehicles are required to process through the commercial search area.

A word of caution: The 319th Security Forces Squadron will increase the amount of patrols in the housing area to deal with the expected spike in traffic during the construction project. For the safety of everyone, traffic enforcement will be strict. Please drive at the posted speed and adhere to all traffic signs.
