AMC seeks 2012 Air Force Marathon participants

GRAND FORKS AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- The Air Mobility Command will sponsor a team of active-duty Airmen in the 16th Annual United States Air Force Marathon on Sept. 15, 2012, at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio.

Male and female runners in all age groups who want to run in the full marathon are encouraged to apply for the team.

Those interested must fill out AF Form 303 and submit to the Sports and Fitness Center by June 29, 2012. Those selected will be placed on permissive temporary duty for the marathon.

All others interested in competing in the Air Force Marathon are encouraged to do so at their own expense. Other events include a wheelchair division (consisting of hand-cranked and push-rim divisions), half marathon, individual 10K, and 5K.

The USAF Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K are held on Sept. 15 and the 5K race is held on Sept. 14 at Wright State University.
