Base Fitness Center hosts half marathon Published June 26, 2012 By Airman 1st Class Derek VanHorn 319th Air Base Wing Public Affairs GRAND FORKS AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- Thirty-one Airmen competed in the base's half marathon June 21, 2012. Held annually, the race gave runners the option to run individually or as three-person teams in a relay format. "We like to see our customers challenge themselves and promote a good, healthy lifestyle," said Carol Muir, Fitness Center director. "This competition is a great test of both personal and team goals." Of the 31 runners, 16 entered the competition individually while the remaining 15 split into five teams. Additionally, 30 volunteers provided course support and handed outĀ fruit and water throughout the race.
