Downtown Grand Forks residents beware of water scam

GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- The Grand Forks Police Department has received reports of residents being called by a person identifying themselves as a water company representative.

This person tells residents they are late on their water payment and invites them to pay over the phone with a credit card.

Grand Forks City Hall has confirmed these calls are not coming from the Water Department.

If you receive a call of this nature, do not give any personal information such as credit card numbers over the phone.
