Today it is harder than ever to pinpoint those with intent to cause harm. But one thing is for sure, there are signs before the event.

Eagle Eye is an Air Force-wide program for deterring acts of terror by recognizing and reporting pre-attack activities; a global "neighborhood watch."

When troops and citizens know what to look for and how to report suspicious activity, the event can be prevented. Suspicious activities by those with intent to harm that you may bear witness to are:

· Surveillance - Any out-of-the ordinary monitoring or recording; "Why is that guy taking pictures of the commercial gate?"

· Elicitation - Attempts to obtain information beyond a need to know; "Why do you want to know how many Airmen are deploying next week?".

· Tests of Security - Attempts to measure security reaction times, strengths and weaknesses; attempts to test or penetrate physical security barriers or procedures; "I denied main gate entry to three white pickups this week, that's got to be some sort of record."

· Acquiring Supplies - Purchasing or stealing explosives, weapons, ammo, uniforms, decals, passes or badges; "Sir, three Airmen reported their winter-issue uniforms stolen from the dorm parking lot last night."

· Suspicious Person - Any individual who doesn't seem to belong to the workplace, neighborhood or business; "Who is that lady walking around the ambulance bay?"

· Dry Run - Positioning of people without an actual event happening; "Responding to a report of a suspicious person, I found her sitting in the clinic's family practice waiting room, without an appointment."

· Deploying Assets - People and supplies getting into position to commit an act; "You won't believe what I just saw...a white pickup with four people dressed in BDUs drove by the hospital and one of them jumped out taking a knee on the corner."
