AMC commander visits Grand Forks AFB Published Dec. 14, 2012 By Senior Airman Derek VanHorn 319th Air Base Wing Public Affairs GRAND FORKS AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- Just two weeks into his new job leading the Air Mobility Command, Gen. Paul Selva visited the Airmen of Grand Forks Dec. 13 and shared his top priorities. During an all-call with the Warriors of the North, Selva explained his top three priorities as mission accomplishment, mutual care and respect among Airmen, and training mobility Airmen. "The mission will always be the first thing on my mind," said Selva, who formerly worked in AMC before moving to an advisory position at the Pentagon in 2005. "We cannot get the mission done unless Airmen are confident they are taken care of, and that means you have to come from a respectful workplace." Selva stressed the importance of being aware of one another and especially took a strong stand against sexual abuse and harassment, saying that it is "unacceptable in our military and unacceptable in our Air Force." Selva also lauded the work of Grand Forks Airmen while emphasizing the importance of their presence in AMC by highlighting the success of Global Hawk operations. "I can't tell you how immensely proud I am of you and the work you do every day," Selva said. "You are in fact unique among all of our Air Mobility Wings, because you can actually say that on any given day, the footprint of the Warriors of the North is felt all the way around the world. "I am incredibly proud of what you all do and thank you for being in our Air Force."Selva took command of AMC on Nov. 30 after serving as the vice commander of Pacific Air Forces at Joint-Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii.
