It's almost time again for our annual "Beautiful Child Photo Shoot and Children's Activity Fair."

In honor of "Month of the Military Child" and for awareness of "Child Abuse Prevention Month," the New Parent Support Program, the Child and Youth Programs and Family Advocacy are teaming up to create a free family event on April 9 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Liberty Square.

It is geared for parents and their children through the age of 12. Photos are taken of children through the age of 5. All the kids who have their photos taken receive a certificate and the photos are later displayed at the Community Activity Center.

Each agency provides an activity that children and their parents do together. Activities range from arts, crafts, sensory, dental and medical health, physical, health and wellness. Weather permitting; the children can explore a fire truck, police car, and an ambulance.

You may see things such as planting seeds, cookie decorating and sensory play in water tables. Security Forces will provide Child ID fingerprinting. We will have a table area assigned to each agency and then you have fun interacting with the children!

Last year we had 388 attendees at the event, and 25 different groups provided activities.

We appreciate volunteers; and it you know of someone wanting to help you can contact margaret.littlefield @us.af.mil. We'll need to know what sort of activity you'd like to do and whether you'll need a power source.

Many of the agencies bring in their own staff, but we welcome additional help during the event and with set up and take down.
