CDC makes renovations on Grand Forks AFB Published Nov. 30, 2018 By Airman 1st Class Melody Wolff 319 Air Base Wing, Public Affairs GRAND FORKS AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- A $280,000 renovation at the Child Development Center, in addition to continuous team building, has been improving not only the interior of the facility, but also the quality of child care on Grand Forks Air Force Base, North Dakota. Correna Woods, CDC Child and Youth Center flight chief, said the CDC has been working diligently to make upgrades. Because of the addition of new classrooms, Woods said the wait list for child care at the CDC is now empty. “Four of the classrooms in the CDC have been renovated,” said Woods. “Along with updating the furniture in all of the rooms, anyone who was on a waiting list now has child care.” With all of the renovation in the CDC, Woods said the staff is consistently working to build a solid team dynamic throughout the facility. “We put a lot of effort into putting strong care takers into our program,” said Woods. “Starting from management, to training, to classroom staff. We like to think of every classroom as a business, so we make it a priority to have strong connected teams for these classrooms to build that trust amongst parents and the children.” Audrey Peterson, CDC assistant director, agrees that the faculty staff is focused on caring for the children. “The staff here are wonderful,” said Peterson. “Each of them are team players and show up every day to support the children. They have the best interest at heart for the kids and we work as a group to provide the best quality care.” Woods said the care and upkeep of the facility is their top priority, so that active duty members can focus on their mission and know their children are being taken care of.
